It is also important to consider, along with the looks, the comfort of the shoe. For these occasions it is important to wear something that not only compliments you well and looks good, but also wear something that will be comfortable so that you can focus on what you went out for in the first place.
Another tip that you would do well to remember when choosing women’s dress shoes is, if you are tall then choosing tall platform shoes is a no-no. You will likely want something with a heel but it should not make you stand head and shoulders above everyone else. If you happen to be shorter than most people then choosing larger platform shoes or taller high heels is an option but you do not need to go for the tallest shoes you can find. Be comfortable with the height you are. Most likely those around you do not particularly care and will appreciate what you offer regardless of your height.
The last thing to consider when shoe shopping is the color. Black is a wise color choice as it is elegant, will go with any outfit you wear and will not detract attention away from you as it would if you were wearing something brighter, such as a bright green or pink. Gold and silver shoes are also a great color to have right now.
