Selecting an Orange Juicer: Start the day well with fresh juice for breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or so we are often told. There is a lot of truth to this because eating well in the morning makes you feel good for the rest of the day, and will often set your mood all day long.

One of the best things to have with breakfast is freshly made orange juice. Just squeezed, oranges provide you with lots of vitamin C and quite a lot of other beneficial nutrients that help to keep you feeling fit and healthy. Store bought juice is fairly cheap and easy to buy, but has nothing on the real thing – storage time means that not only flavour but also many of those nutrients are lost.

Making orange juice is really easy – even without a juicer you can still enjoy it. If you have to, you can just cut the fruit in two and use your hands to squeeze the juice out over a glass or small bowl. It is hard work but can do if you are stuck for fresh juice!

It is much easier of course to use a good orange juicer. Modern orange juicers have come a long way: gone are the days of the citrus reamer (basically a come that you twist into the cut fruit to crush out juice), and the associated near-broken wrist feeling you used to have after using one!

Modern citrus presses take advantage of clever and innovative design to turn minimum effort into maximum juice. Brands such as Norpco and Metrokane have specialized in building presses that allow anyone to make juice in no time at all. Using upright standing juicers, into which one places halves of orange, these manufacturers have taken juicer design to an art form! Even kids and people who are not particularly strong can easily crush out a glass of juice in no time at all.

If you can spare a few moments, check out one of the top selling models of Metrokane orange juicer, the Mighty OJ press. Imagine how much fun it would be to make juice every morning with this cool, sleek juicer!
