Quality Juicer and Blade Speeds

Making Juice

When it comes time to shop for a juicer there are always a few of the most critical factors that deserve careful consideration. Since we know that it is never a good idea to limit the juicer recipes that we are able to try, it is important that the machine is able to process just about any ingredient. That means the hardest items like leafy greens down to softer things like citrus fruits. But just being able to juice hard produce is not enough. There is a certain level of quality which you would require from the juicer if you want to enjoy a quality drink and juicing experience overall.

One thing we want to look for is as slow a blade speed as we can reasonably get. This means that anything that chops like a blender is out of the question. There is a difference between using a blender and juicer, by the way, and both have their own benefits. Blenders leave the solid particles meaning it provides a lot of fiber but that also takes away from some of the benefits of juicing which contains purely the liquid and the essential micro nutrients in it. But no one wants to blend vegetables and have to drink the green pulp that is a little extreme although breakfast juicer recipes that call for a lot of fruits might make a nice smoothie.

The point is that slower speeds are better for juicing because the purpose of juicing is to consume the fruit or vegetable in liquid form but maintain it’s most natural state or as close as possible. Faster blades such as those of a blender or a cheap juicer will generate too much heat which essentially cooks the juice and the nutritional contents. Fast blades can also cause impact and shock damage which will also contribute to the alteration of the molecular structure of many of the nutrients, minerals and enzymes.
