How to Reduce the Price of Carpet Installation

Samples. 159/365

After being up to your eyes in free carpet samples and color charts for weeks, you have finally chosen a carpet and the last thing you want to think about is getting the thing installed. Unfortunately it is something that has to be organized if you want the carpet to actually make ts appearance on your floor.

Now the price of carpet is one thing but perhaps you didn’t reckon on how much extra you would have to pay for installation and it may come as a bit of a shock. Not to worry however there are ways to reduce those high carpet installation prices. Here are some of the things you can try.

1. Ask for an Inclusive Deal

Some carpet stores will organize installation and quote you a price for your carpet which includes it. Ask about this when you are ordering your carpet and consider whether it is good value for money. At sale time, you might see offers for free installation and sometimes free padding, but you need to consider the overall deal to see if it is worth it.

2. Shop Around

Even if you have a price quoted by the carpet store, it may still be worth shopping around. Ask friends for recommendations for carpet installers and start there. Be sure to ask what is included in the installation such as floor preparation, furniture removal and so on.

3. Do Some of the Preparation Work Yourself

Some of the services which carpet installers may do for you are often subject to extra charges. For those which you are capable of doing yourself, you may want to consider taking on board to keep costs down. If you have a couple of strong male friends you can probably manage to get the furniture out of the room and remove the old carpet, for example, so that is probably worth doing.
