One of the most important things to consider when purchasing K Cups is the roast level of the coffee. Often times coffee drinkers do not take the time to determine the roast level they desire. Determining your desired roast preference does not have to be complicated. Here are the four basic selections to choose from; Light, Medium, Dark, and French Roast. Light Roast

This probably the most over looked roast level as Americans have adapted to the dark roasting practices of most commercial roasters. But a light roasted coffee is by far the most flavorful. With a light roast you will experience a brighter coffee, one that is light in body, and higher in acidity. With a lighter roasted the true flavors of the bean are revealed. You will often experience hints of dried fruit, black currents, tangerine, as well as other fruit notes.

Medium Roast

Often considered the most balanced of all roast levels this roast level is desired by many. You will be sure to enjoy the overall complexity, body, aroma, and sweetness of coffees roasted at this level.

Dark Roast

A perfectly roasted dark roast will linger on your palate for hours. Coffees roasted at this level often times are very heavy in body and well as mouth feel. Common characteristics of dark roasts are spiciness, dark chocolate, and prevalent deep roasts notes. They often can taste burnt or bitter as well.

French Roast

For those of you that prefer that smoky, bitter taste then this roast is for you. Enjoy a smoky sweet taste followed by a slightly bitter aftertaste that is common among many American coffees today.
