Choose An Octo LNB For Your Satellite Dish
If you are the owner of a satellite dish then you may be familiar with an LNB – also known as a low noise block. They attach to the arm of your satellite dish and convert the electronic signal received at the dish to a signal that can be sent to the receiver inside your house. Basic dishes come with a single output LNB or at best a dual output LNB. What kind of LNB you would need depends on the needs of your household. For larger households, an Octo LNB might fit the bill.
With eight outputs or feeds you have several options for television viewing in your household. If you are a multi-person household that enjoys recording programs quite often then you would want to consider using an Octo LNB. Each receiver or television you have requires one output from the LNB but if you wanted to watch a program and record another on the same television/receiver then it would require two outputs – one to record and one to view.
An Octo LNB is more for the high end television viewing household. For example, if you have a household with teenagers who are lofty television viewers and also want to record as well, you could use the Octo LNB. You could have two outputs on the bonus room receiver and still be left with six more outputs to place strategically throughout the house. Depending on how much recording you personally require if at all and how many rooms you have a television in you could in essence equip your whole house with eight rooms of television.
Ultimately the decision is up to the homeowner and their personal entertainment requirements. If you are single dwelling household then an Octo LNB is probably too much for what you will use at any given time. However; if you are a homeowner interested in outfitting your whole house with the ultimate in satellite entertainment then an Octo LNB is the way to go.
